Conventional money management wisdom dictates that you should seldom wager more than 2 units on any game. What percentage of your bankroll do you wager on each play on average?

Consider that 1 unit = 1% of BR

With each unit as 1% of bankroll then an average of between 1 and 2 units. Most of my plays are 1 or 2 units.

The use of bankrolls and percentages is not necessary if you know what you are doing. It is simply about making money so dollar amounts are all that matters, not percentages of bankrolls.

Still, your dollar amounts depend on your total dollar amount. In other words, your dollar amounts are simply a percentage of your total bankroll. I'm interested in knowing how much RX bettors are comfortable risking on a single wager on average.

1% for me

Bankroll - definition

the amount of money which - if you lost it - would then determine that you stopped betting. This amount should be substantially less than your total wealth.

For me the amount is 40,000 USD. So my typical bet is 400. This is probably more conservative than Kelly would advise, given that I started out with $40k and have made profits of $110k or so since then.

Having said that, on an average weekend I have between 6 and 10 bets in action at any given moment which is probably much less conservative than Kelly would advise.
